WEST ROSETTA GROINS
Concise:
- Mohamed Ali Seawall constructed in 1830 to protects the lowland area southeast of Alexandria against inundation by water from Abu Qir Bay.
It is a set of nine groins located just to the left of Rosetta western breakwater with about 650m distance in between (except the last three groins from the north which have distances 750, 550 and 450m in between respectively). These groins constructed during 2009 to cease the erosion process which toke place as an impact of execution of Rosetta western breakwater at the breakwater sides.
